Do you ship surfboards outside of NYC?
At this time we are unable to ship the surfboards in our store (the boards we currently have in stock). These boards are sold locally. However, custom and special order boards can be shipped to most places. In general, the shipping for a single board can range anywhere from $50 - $100 depending on how many are ordered, and to which place they are going. Please contact us at info@saltsurf.com for more information regarding shipping rates.
Where are Salt Surfboards made?
Our boards are made in San Diego, California.
Do surfboards come with fins?
Yes, all surfboards include fcs fins, unless otherwise specified.
If I want a surfboard shape that is out of stock on your site, can I still order one?
Definitely, just email us with what you want. However, you will have to wait for the next batch of boards to arrive.
Can I order a different sized version of a surfboard on your site?
Yes you can. Just send us an email at info@saltsurf.com with what you want and we will sort it all out for you. The surfboard should arrive when the next batch of boards arrives.
How do I order a custom surfboard and how long will it take to get it?
We do accept custom surfboard orders. However it usually takes anywhere from 1-2 months for this type of board to arrive.
How are your surfboards glassed?
In most cases, our surfboards are constructed with a medium layer of fiber glass and resin. More specifically, the boards usually have a 4oz top, 5oz middle, and 4oz bottom layer of glass. This means a strong, but light surfboard. In addition, the boards are glassed with 'd-glass' and have a sanded finish.
From time to time, these factors may change, like if we make a board with a heavier glass coat and polished finish, but for the most part this is how it's done.
How long has your shaper been shaping?
SALT's shaper, Mauricio Avila, has 15 years of shaping experience. During those 15 years, Mauricio has worked on refining his hand shaping skills by building thousands of boards, and spending countless hours of time talking with surfers about how to build a better surfboard.
What service do you use to ship your products?
We use USPS to ship all items.
Do you ship products internationally?
Yes, we are able to ship products internationally with the exception of our current stock of surfboards in NYC. It may be possible to ship custom or special surfboard orders internationally depending on your location. Please contact us for more information on this.
What is your return policy?
Skateboards, apparel and accessories can be returned in their original condition (unused and unworn) within 30 days of receipt of the shipment. All surfboard sales are final.
How do I make a return?
Unless an error was made on our part, the cost of shipping a return is the responsibility of the customer. All returns must include an original copy of the receipt along with the return.
If you are unsure about your eligibility to make a return, or have any questions about making a return, please contact: info@saltsurf.com
